Dakotah! Ice Center is home to the Prior Lake High School girls and boys high school hockey teams, as well as the Prior Lake/Savage Youth Hockey Association.

Open Skate

* Open skate sessions are open to the public.

Figure and hockey skate rentals (sizes toddler 8 through 13 adult) are available at an additional fee. (Sorry, skates may not be rented for outside facility use.) For your safety, we do not allow skate aids, hockey sticks or pucks on the ice during open skate.

DSF Members: Free
Guests ages 4 years and up: $4.00

Skate Rental Fees:

DSF Members: $2.00
Guests: $3.00

Adult Open Hockey

Summer Adult open hockey is open to players ages 18 and older. Limited to 26 skaters. Helmets are required. Full gear is recommended.

Admission Fees:

Members and Guests: $6.00

Developmental Hockey Ice

This program offers hockey players an opportunity to work on their hockey skills either individually or with a coach. A Helmet and mouth guard are required if the skater is working with a stick or a puck. No slap shots are allowed. When conducting drills, please be considerate of other groups or individuals.

Cost is $6 per person

Developmental Freestyle Ice

Freestyle ice offers figure skaters and opportunity to work on their skating skills either individually or through a private lesson with their instructor. The schedule is subject to change, so please check the schedule frequently.

Learn To Skate Classes

Dakotah Ice Center offers group lessons for beginners (age 3 and up) to adults (including adult beginners). We offer 5 sessions throughout the year (Fall 1, Fall 2, Winter, Spring and Summer). Lessons are on Monday nights, Monday mornings (Monday mornings are not available in the summer) and Saturday Mornings (Saturday lessons are not available in the Spring or Summer).

Ice and Conference Room Rental

The ice center is available for rental for practices, camps, tournaments and private rentals.  The ice rate is dependent upon the season and prime and none prime times.  We also have a conference room available for rent.  There is room for up to 100 people and the rental starts at $50.

We do not offer a birthday party package, but you can bring your guests to an open skating session and rent the conference room before or after the session for cake and presents.

Open Skate

Open Skate is available to all members and guests. View schedules here, or one is available at the Front Desk or Ice Arena Office. Because of hockey games, tournaments, and special events, the Open Skate schedule is subject to change. Call 496-6888 for weekly updates. Adult Open Hockey, Adult Hockey, and Broomball Leagues are also available. All Junior Privilege Guidelines apply. Members receive complimentary Open Skate admission. Show membership card for this benefit. Ice skate rental is available.

Developmental Freestyle

  • This program is an opportunity to work on skating skills either individually or through a private lesson with an instructor.
  • All skaters and coaches are required to sign in and pay before taking the ice.
  • Fees are $10 per hour for skaters, $20 for unlimited daily.
  • Punch cards are available for $100; they are good for 10 sessions.
  • Unlimited monthly passes are also available for $150 for skaters.
  • Coaches are responsible for making sure that their skaters have signed in and paid.
  • Any skater that is on the ice and has not signed in will be asked to leave for the day, including the skater's coach.
  • All PSA-certified coaches are welcome.
  • If music cannot be agreed upon by participants, the sound system will be turned off.
  • The freestyle ice schedule can change. Please check the schedule frequently.
