  • Why did you join Dakotah! Sport and Fitness?
I joined Dakotah! Sport and Fitness because I wanted a place that offered a variety of exercise equipment for different kinds of workouts. I didn’t want to be limited by lack of equipment or space, which could hinder my ability to change-up or modify my routine.
  • How long have you been a member?
I originally joined in 1994. I took a break in 2008 and returned in 2010.
  • What do you like best about Dakotah! Sport and Fitness?
What I like best is that you rarely need to wait for a piece of equipment while working out. I’ve been around long enough to see all the renovations and updates over the years, and it’s made the facility better every time. The new club offerings, additional equipment, and the strategic utilization of space has made a big difference.
  • What area(s) of the club do you use?
Usually, I am in the free weight and circuit equipment areas. I routinely walk the track upstairs. The end of a workout always includes a visit to the sauna or steam room.
  • What are your fitness or health goals and how is Dakotah! Sport and Fitness helping you attain them?
Over time, my goals have evolved. My workouts now include properly winding down my day. The last two years have reminded me that staying active is essential. That doesn’t mean my workouts aren’t difficult or intense at times, but it’s more about the benefits of doing something rather than nothing—mentally and physically. Dakotah offers what I need to make this happen.
  • Any tips for current or prospective members?
My tip for current members is to keep being the friendly group they already are! New or perspective members may be joining a fitness club for the first time and current members can help alleviate anxiety just by being nice.
