  • 4 large pears
  • 5 tablespoons butter
  • 2 teaspoons maple syrup
  • 4 tablespoons brown sugar
  • Cinnamon or nutmeg, to taste
  1. Preheat the oven to 350° F.
  2. Slice the pears down the middle, the long way, and lay halves on a baking sheet, with the skin of the pears facing down.
  3. Use the butter to spread on the top of pears, about 1/2 tablespoon on each pear half.
  4. Layer maple syrup on top of the pears and sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon or nutmeg.
  5. Bake for 30-45 minutes, or until soft. Serve with vanilla ice cream, if desired.
